This 2-section curved bamboo pergola was built for the Beijing International Horticultural Exhibition and finished in October 2018. Handcrafted from natural bamboo poles, it forms a smooth arched tunnel framework.
The open lattice bamboo structure is designed for climbing roses, vines and green foliage. The porous bamboo frame lets sunlight filter through, creating a dreamy shaded walkway surrounded by seasonal blooms. It showcases bamboo’s versatility as a sustainable landscape material, blending rustic natural texture with modern garden design.
This installation became one of the eye-catching garden features of the expo, proving bamboo can create lightweight, artistic, eco-friendly outdoor landscape structures.
